Guy has been an avid gardener for many years, enjoying growing any plants, with increased focus on vegetables and fruit trees, trying to utilize every bit of soil (or water) to grow food.
With the influence of other like-minded friends, he even discovered back yard chickens and bee hives, which are considered the gateway drug to farming.
At that point, never having enough room to explore all new exciting ideas, he started fantasizing about finding a bigger space to grow things. Eventually it happened, and in April 2025, Guy started preparing a plot of previously unused farm land, north of Hollister, to become again a productive farm.
Peled Farm is dedicated to growing wholesome, chemical-free food through natural and regenerative practices that nurture the soil, conserve water, and restore the living world around us. We cultivate both familiar and globally inspired crops that thrive in our region, enriching our local food landscape and making nourishing produce accessible to families, schools, and markets.
Our farm is a place of learning and connection. Through workshops, field days, apprenticeships, volunteer gatherings, and U-pick events, we share the knowledge and joy of small-scale sustainable farming and invite the community into the rhythms of the land.
At the heart of our work is the belief that food brings people together. Through farm-to-table cooking, shared meals, and seasonal feasts, we celebrate the harvest and help people reconnect with nature, each other, and the simple pleasure of fresh, healthy food.
2025 has been our first and partial year. A lot of infrastructure development, and experimentation. Learning the soil, the weather, the pests and weeds we battle with. We plan to go through the first cycle of seasons slowly, and start scaling up a bit the following year.
